Philly cheesesteak sausage kebabs

Philly cheesesteak sausage kebabs

ingredients

  1. 1 lb D&W Philadelphia Cheesesteak Style Sausage, sliced into coins
  2. 2 red bell peppers, cut into chunks
  3. 1 large white onion, cut into chunks
  4. 1 hoagie roll or Italian bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  5. 4 oz D&W Sharp & Creamy White Cheddar Cheese, cubed or sliced
  6. 2 tablespoons olive oil
  7. 1/2 teaspoons salt
  8. 1/3 teaspoons black pepper
  9. 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  10. 8 wooden or metal skewers

directions

  1. Prep the skewers and grill: If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. Season the vegetables and bread: Toss the red pepper chunks, onion chunks, and bread cubes in olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
  3. Build the skewers: Thread the skewers by alternating sausage coins, red pepper, onion, and bread cubes. Aim for 3–4 pieces of sausage per skewer with vegetables and bread in between.
  4. Grill the skewers: Place skewers on the grill and cook for 3–8 minutes per side, turning once, until the sausage has good char marks and the bread is toasted and golden.
  5. Melt the cheese: While the skewers grill, melt the white cheddar in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth and pourable. Add a splash of milk if needed to loosen.
  6. Plate and serve: Arrange the finished skewers on a platter and drizzle generously with the melted white cheddar. Serve immediately.
