back-to-school school bus lunch

back-to-school school bus lunch

ingredients

  1. 2 slices whole-wheat sandwich bread
  2. 1–2 tsp Dietz & Watson Whole Grain Dijon Mustard
  3. 2 slices Dietz & Watson Gourmet Lite Turkey Breast
  4. 2 slices Dietz & Watson Mild Cheddar Cheese
  5. 1 slice Dietz & Watson American Cheese
  6. 2 Dietz & Watson Pickle Chips
  7. Reserved bread crust from the sandwich

directions

  1. Cut out the school bus. Use a simple school-bus-shaped cutter or template to cut the bread into a bus shape. Use the same basic shape to cut the Mild Cheddar Cheese. Save the bread scraps—you’ll use the crust later for the bus details.
  2. Make the sandwich. Spread Dietz & Watson Whole Grain Dijon Mustard over the bread. Layer the Dietz & Watson Gourmet Lite Turkey Breast on top, folding or trimming it so it stays within the bus shape. Top the turkey with the Mild Cheddar Cheese bus cutout.
  3. Add the windows and headlight. Cut the Dietz & Watson American Cheese into four small squares or rectangles for the bus windows. Cut one tiny circle for the headlight. Use a tiny dab of mustard, if necessary, to help the cheese pieces stay in place.
  4. Add the wheels. Place two Dietz & Watson Pickle Chips along the bottom of the bus to create the wheels.
  5. Finish the bus details. Cut two long, thin strips from the reserved bread crust and place them horizontally across the side of the bus. Add a small piece of crust near the front for another bus detail. This gives you the darker accents without needing additional ingredients. Use a tiny dab of mustard, if necessary, to help the pieces stay in place.
