helping out--in a time of need

When we talk about our business, we always say “it’s a family thing.” Today, that’s more true than ever. Our deli partners and the communities we serve are our family, and we’re thankful for all the work and dedication they have shown during this time.

We’re proud to support the William Way LGBT Community Center in our hometown of Philly. They engage and support the city’s diverse LGBTQIA+ communities through arts & culture, empowerment, and community connections. If you’d like to join us in making a donation, you can do so here.

helping rebuild the--women’s housing coalition

Baltimore, MD is home to one of our Dietz & Watson facilities and we’re proud to be part of this community. We’re elated to have the opportunity to work with The Women’s Housing Coalition this year, which is dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness in the Baltimore community. They provide housing and supportive services, along with life skills training, case management, and resident advocacy.

In June 2020, a fire destroyed one of The Women’s Housing Coalition’s key buildings. Dietz & Watson will match dollar for dollar every donation The Coalition receives until the end of this year. We believe in the immense value The Coalition provides to the Baltimore community and we’re looking forward to working with them to further their mission.

Philly strong

As a thank you to our local heroes working on the front lines of Covid - 19, Dietz & Watson is providing lunches to hospital workers, first responders, and public works employees in Philadelphia and the surrounding area through a program called Philly Strong in partnership with Aardvark Mobile Tours of Conshohocken. These hot lunches include a gourmet Dietz & Watson beef frank with all the works like chili, sauerkraut and cheese on a Stroehmann roll, along with other Philly favorites like Entenmann desserts and a variety of Herr’s Chips.

More than 3,000 boxed lunches have been served over the past month at five locations – Bryn Mawr Hospital, Einstein Medical Center, Lankenau Medical Center, Doylestown Hospital and Holy Redeemer.

Herr’s, Bimbo, and Ardmore Toyota completed the group of partners with Aardvark Mobile Tours and Dietz & Watson, who all helped make the program happen with their product and donations.

broad street--ministries donation

Dietz & Watson has donated over 10,000 lbs of turkey to Step Up to the Plate in partnership with Broad Street Ministry, a nonprofit organization that serves people in poverty or experiencing homelessness.

Step Up to the Plate, an inspired effort by Broad Street Ministry, Project HOME, and Prevention Point Philadelphia, is addressing the increasing need of individuals experiencing food insecurity and health challenges during the COVID-19 crisis. Together these organizations have created take-away bags containing a freshly made sandwich for lunch, a cookie and a healthy and hearty bowl for dinner. As word spread, Step Up to the Plate upped their daily meals to 2,500 a day.

So many amazing organizations have indeed stepped up to the plate for our fellow Philadelphians and we are grateful for this opportunity to play our own small part.

Many of the local delis that serve Dietz & Watson products are involved in their own efforts to mitigate the crisis. We are providing free food to any deli that is providing food for healthcare workers, first responders, or anyone else on the front line

ongoing work with--philabundance

Philabundance is the largest hunger relief organization in our hometown of Philadelphia. They are a proud member of Feeding America and on a mission to make nutritious food accessible to all. In the early days of the virus, we donated over 3,000 lbs of food, and are continuing to support their efforts to feed our city.

lounge--for good

Being comfy never felt so good. Every week from May 25th through July 12th, 50% of the proceeds of all purchases from our online store were donated to small businesses and charities, focusing on a different charity each week to support the communities affected by COVID-19.

protein-packed snacks--for a community food--pantry

In support of the communities Dietz & Watson is proud to serve across the country, we donated over 2,100 packs of Dietz Nuts, over 600 Landjaegers and various other meaty snacks to the Florida Community Food Pantry in Florida, NY. The Florida Community Food Pantry is an agency member of the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley and Feeding America, non-profit organizations working to alleviate hunger in communities experiencing food insecurity. Through this donation, the Florida Community Food Pantry has been able to provide each family they serve with meaty, protein-packed snacks for a full month.
