pineapple sausage bites

ingredients

  1. 1 pack Dietz & Watson Asiago & Spinach Chicken Sausage
  2. 1 teaspoon oil
  3. 14 ounce can of sliced pineapple rings
  4. 2 tbsp honey
  5. 2 tbsp sesame oil
  6. 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  7. 1 tbsp soy sauce
  8. 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
  9. chopped cilantro and sesame seeds for garnish

directions

  1. Heat the oil in a large cast iron pan over medium-high heat on the grill.
  2. Cut Dietz & Watson Asiago & Spinach Chicken Sausage into 1 inch pieces and add to pan, cook until browned on both sides.
  3. Drain the pineapple juice from the can into a small bowl, add sesame oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, and soy sauce, and sriracha (if desired).
  4. Remove Dietz & Watson Asiago & Spinach Chicken Sausage from the pan and add pineapple.
  5. Cook pineapple pieces until lightly browned and starting to caramelize, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the pineapple from the pan.
  6. Put the Dietz & Watson Asiago & Spinach Chicken Sausage back into the pan and add the glaze.
  7. Bring to a rapid boil and boil until the glaze thickens enough to coat the sausage bites, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Skewer one piece of pineapple and one Dietz & Watson Asiago & Spinach Chicken Sausage on a toothpick and drizzle with remaining sauce from the pan.
  9. Top with sesame seeds and cilantro.
  10. Enjoy!
