mile high baked mac & cheese

ingredients

  • 1 wedge Dietz & Watson Bacon & Horseradish Cheese wedge - cubed
  • 1 wedge Dietz & Watson Originals Manchego Cheese wedge
  • 1 wedge Dietz & Watson Originals Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese wedge
  • 16oz package Penne Pasta
  • 1/2 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
  • Olive Oil Cooking Spray

directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Grease bottom of a 13x9 glass baking dish with olive oil cooking spray.
  3. Cook Pasta according to package.
  4. Once pasta is cooked, drain water using a strainer and return pasta to cooking pot.
  5. Add 1 cup of the Bacon & Horseradish cheddar. Grate 1/2 cup of the Manchego cheese over pasta and cheddar mixture. Heat on low stirring until cheese is blended and fully melted.
  6. Pour mixture into greased baking dish spreading evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the top of the mixture with the panko bread crumbs.
  8. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until cheese is bubbling.
  9. Remove dish from oven, turn oven to broil, (setting the broiler to 350 degrees)
  10. Grate the Parmigiano Reggiano evenly over the bread crumbs, return the dish back in the oven and broil for 5 minutes or until cheese and bread crumbs are lightly brown and crispy.
  11. Remove from oven, let stand 3 to 5 minutes before serving.
