leftover turkey casserole

ingredients

  1. 1 package Dietz & Watson Chicken Sausage
  2. 1 1/2 cups leftover stuffing
  3. 12 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  4. 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  5. 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
  6. 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  7. 2 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme leaves
  8. 4 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  9. salt (optional)



directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Lightly spray a 9" x 13" baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Add stuffing to a large mixing bowl.
  3. Melt butter in microwave and drizzle half the melted butter over the stuffing. Stir then drizzle remaining butter over stuffing and stir again to combine.
  4. Add Dietz & Watson Chicken Sausage and leftover turkey to stuffing and fold to combine.
  5. Place cream of chicken soup in a large liquid measuring cup. Add 4 cups of water, sage, and pepper. Wisk until smooth. Add salt if desired.
  6. Spread half of the turkey and stuffing mixture in an even layer, in prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of thyme and 2 tablespoons of chives. Drizzle slightly more than half of the cream of chicken soup mixture evenly over the turkey and stuffing.
  7. Add the remaining turkey and stuffing in an even layer, and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of thyme and 2 tablespoons of chives. Drizzle remaining cream of chicken mixture over the top.
  8. Add a few grinds of black pepper over the top, to taste
  9. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbling and thoroughly heated.
  10. Sprinkle with remaining thyme and chives and serve hot.
  11. Enjoy!
