hot dog--spiders

hot dog spiders

  • 6 Dietz & Watson Originals Organic All Beef Franks
  • 1 tube (8 oz.) Refrigerated crescent dough
  • 1 can Refrigerated crescent dough
  • 1 tsp Black sesame seeds or poppy seeds

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F & line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. Cut each hot dog in half lengthwise, then cut each piece in half crosswise (each hot dog will make 4 "spiders")
  3. Keeping the middle intact, use the tip of a knife to make 3 slices at either end of each hot dog piece, to make 4 "legs" on either side
  4. Cut dough into 1"-wide by 2"-long strips
  5. Wrap one dough strip around the intact middle of each hot dog, pinching to seal dough
  6. Place, seam side down, on prepared baking sheet
  7. Do this for all hot dog pieces
  8. Lightly spray the dough with cooking spray
  9. Press 2 sesame seeds or poppy seeds into the middle of each “spider” to make eyes
  10. Bake until dough is golden brown and hot dog “legs” are sizzling and twisted, 10 to 12 minutes
  11. Remove from oven and serve warm with ketchup or mustard on the side
