classic sausage, peppers and onions

This quick & easy classic recipe is perfect for summertime cookouts, busy weeknights, or whenever. So tasty, you’ll get a chef’s kiss from everyone in the fam.

ingredients

  • 1 package Dietz & Watson Classic Horseshoe Sausage
  • ¼ cup Dietz and Watson Whole Grain Dijon Mustard
  • 3 yellow onions
  • 1 of each red, yellow, and orange bell pepper
  • Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ cup honey

directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Cut the onions in half, slice them crosswise in ½-inch-thick half-rounds, and place them in a large bowl.
  3. Cut the peppers in 1-inch-wide strips, discard the stems and seeds, and add to the bowl.
  4. Toss peppers and onions with 4 tablespoons olive oil, garlic, 2 teaspoons salt, and 1 teaspoon black pepper.
  5. Transfer the peppers and onions to a large roasting pan and spread them evenly in a single layer, and bake for 20 minutes, tossing once halfway through
  6. Cut the sausage two-thirds of the way through in ¼-inch-thick slices and place on top of the peppers and onions
  7. Combine Dietz & Watson Whole Grain Dijon Mustard and honey, then brush the top and sides of the sausage.
  8. Roast for 30 minutes, until the sausage is nice and crispy.
  9. Enjoy!
