cheesy hasselback sausage

Cheesy, meaty, and oh-so-irresistible, this dish is a sausage party in your mouth. And all your taste buds are invited!

ingredients

  • 1 package of Dietz & Watson Beef Uncured Horseshoe Sausage
  • Dietz & Watson Muenster Cheese
  • 1 tsp Dietz & Watson Whole Grain Dijon Mustard
  • Pepperocini Peppers
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce

directions

  1. Cut ¼ inch slices around the entire sausage, avoid cutting through the bottom.
  2. Cook sausage in pan, cut side down, with 1" water until water evaporates and sausage browns.
  3. While the sausage is cooking mix together Dietz & Watson Whole Grain Dijon Mustard, sugar, and Worcestershire.
  4. Remove the sausage from the pan and set the cut side up.
  5. Cut your Dietz & Watson Muenster Cheese into 1" chunks and stuff them into the sausage cuts with slices of Pepperoncini peppers.
  6. Brush the top of the sausage with the mustard mixture.
  7. Place back in the pan and cook until the bottom has browned and all the cheese has melted. It can be finished under the broiler as well if needed.
  8. Serve with bread and more Dietz & Watson Whole Grain Dijon Mustard for dipping!
