fried pickles

ingredients

  1. 3 bags of Dietz & Watson Pickle chips
  2. Dietz & Watson cajun style mayo
  3. Oil for frying (vegetable or peanut)
  4. 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  5. 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  6. 3/4 teaspoons garlic powder
  7. 1/8 teaspoon salt
  8. 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  9. 1/2 tablespoon hot sauce
  10. 1/4 cup water

directions

  1. Heat 1 1/2-2 inches oil in a heavy bottomed pot over medium-high heat to 375-degrees F. Make sure oil temperature maintains a consistent 375-degrees F.
  2. With paper towels, blot dry your Dietz Pickle Chips
  3. In a bowl or rimmed plate, combine flour, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Add hot sauce and water and mix until smooth.
  4. Working in batches, gently toss pickles in batter to gently coat. Using a slotted spoon, remove pickles from the batter allowing excess to drip off. One at a time, add pickles to the oil and fry for about 1 1/2-2 minutes or until golden. Remove from oil and place on a dish with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  5. Serve with Dietz & Watson cajun style mayo.
