ingredients

  • 1 package of Dietz & Watson Originals Organic Beef Franks or any other Dietz & Watson hot dog or sausage flavor combos of your choice
  • 7 thick slices of Dietz & Watson Originals Colby Jack Cheese
  • 7 slices of Dietz & Watson Thick Cut Applewood Smoked Bacon
  • Star Cookie Cutter
  • Wooden Skewers

directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Take a skewer and stick it all the way through the center of the D&W Originals Organic Beef Franks length-wise, leaving about an inch and a half exposed out of the top of each hot dog. Feel free to mix and match and use your favorite D&W hot dog and sausages, like Smoked Hot Sausage, Jalapeno Cheddarwurst, or Buffalo Style Chicken Sausage!
  3. Take a piece of D&W Thick Cut Applewood Smoked Bacon and wrap it around the D&W Originals Organic Beef Franks in a spiral shape until you reach the top, leaving gaps in between each spiral. Repeat with the rest of the hot dogs and lay them on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake the D&W Originals Organic Beef Franks for about 15 minutes, or until the D&W Thick Cut Applewood Smoked Bacon is throughly cooked and golden brown.
  5. While the D&W Originals Organic Beef Franks are baking, use a star cookie cutter to cut out stars approximately an inch in diameter out of the thick slices of D&W Originals Colby Jack Cheese.
  6. Let the D&W Originals Organic Beef Franks cool and then place 1 D&W Originals Colby Jack Cheese star at the top of each hot dog in the part of the skewer that's sticking out of the top, and enjoy!
