Premium Meats and Artisan Cheeses
About Us
 |
Dietz & Watson is one of the largest preparers of Premium Deli Meats and Artisan Cheeses, with distribution at the finest supermarkets and neighborhood delis throughout the United States and selected foreign markets. Headquartered in Philadelphia with facilities in Baltimore, Corfu, NY and Delanco, NJ, Dietz & Watson employs over 1,000 people. |
| For more than 70 years, Dietz & Watson has been run as a family business. It was founded in 1939 by Gottlieb Dietz, a talented young German sausage maker. His primary goal was to produce the most flavorful, highest-quality deli meats in the marketplace to please even the most discriminating palate. His old-world recipes and commitment to "quality above all else" demanded nothing less than the freshest lean grain-fed Midwest beef, Canadian pork, turkey breast and chicken breast prepared with fresh, all-natural spices and seasonings. Dietz & Watson never uses artificial flavors, colors, fillers, extenders or MSG. Today, from our headquarters in Philadelphia, the third and forth generations of the family, aided by Gottlieb Dietz's daughter, Ruth Dietz Eni, continues Dietz's dedication and commitment to preparing Premium Deli Meats and Artisan Cheeses. They are the grandchildren of company founder Gottlieb Dietz - Louis Eni, (President and CEO), Chris Eni, Cindy Eni Yingling, and his great-grandchildren Lauren Eni and Christopher Yingling. |

Dietz & Watson's commitment to preparing the finest deli meats and artisan cheeses that are "Good and Good for You" has led our company to the forefront of healthy eating. In 1979 our company introduced Gourmet Lite™ varieties of no-salt and low salt meats that immediately found favor with consumers, and ultimately led to the establishment in 1996 of the Dedicated To Your Healthier Lifestyle® program; a collection of more than 60 delicious deli meats that exceed USDA, FDA and health organization standards for healthy eating and support the statement that "Healthy Eating Must Be Delicious Eating™." | |
 | Dietz & Watson has always been in the forefront of accountability and sustainability, believing that responsibility begins on the farm and continues to the consumer's table. Dietz & Watson has established significant vendor auditing policies for the humane treatment of animals and the conservation of our air, our water and land resources. We encourage the use of recycled materials and recyclable materials whenever possible and practical. Dietz & Watson's facilities are the most modern, technologically advanced facilities in the industry, and we strive to always be on the cutting edge of advances in processes and packaging that deliver the tastiest, most wholesome and pathogen-free foods to the table, while being ecologically friendly. A large fleet of trucks is continually upgraded to the highest levels of fuel efficiency and we are experimenting with producing our own bio diesel from expended canola oil. |
Dietz & Watson believes in being a good neighbor in the community and pays special attention to local causes including support of police and firefighter organizations and the Battleship New Jersey Museum. In addition, Dietz & Watson works closely with charities such as Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research, Crohn's & Colitis research, and a multitude of youth-oriented organizations such the Police Athletic League and the Golden Slipper Organization. Dietz & Watson has not forgotten our brave servicemen and women by offering support to the USO and through our sponsorship of the Philadelphia Eagles, we take part in the Hometown Heroes program. |
